The eligibility criteria for SSC CGL are different for various posts. Candidates should ensure the SSC CGL Eligibility before applying for the exam. There are certain conditions in eligibility criteria set by SSC department. Candidates must have a Graduation Degree in any stream to apply for SSC CGL. They should be minimum 18 years of age while maximum 32 years in age. SSC CGL notification will be announced in the month of April 2018.  In this article, we are providing the complete details of SSC CGL Eligibility criteria.

What is the Eligibility for SSC CGL?

 

SSC CGL eligibility criteria include the educational qualification, physical standards and age limit of the candidate. Candidate must be a graduate to apply for any post in SSC CGL. SSC introduced some major changes this year in the age limit of candidates. SSC has increased 3 years of upper limit in age for all the posts. Candidate must be a citizen of India to apply for SSC CGL. Candidates belong to Nepal/ Bhutan is also eligible to apply.


 

Educational Qualification

 

Candidates willing to apply for SSC CGL 2018 exam should know about the eligibility criteria for SSC CGL. The following eligibility for all the posts is given below.

 

  • Assistant Audit Officer

Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university

They must also be Chartered Accountant/ Cost & Management Accountant/ Company secretary/ M.Com/ MBA/ Master in business studies/ Master in Business Economics

  • Statistical Investigator Grade – II

 

Candidates must have a graduate degree from any AICTE approved university. They must have secured at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard.

  • Compiler – Candidate should be a Graduate with Economics/ Statistics/ Mathematics as compulsory or elective subjects.
  • For all other posts – Graduation degree in any stream.

SSC CGL Age Limit

 

The age of candidate should not be less than 18 years or not be more than 32 years. The age limit will be calculated as on 1st August 2017. The age limit for all the posts in SSC CGL is given below:

Relaxation in Age

 

There is a relaxation in age for reserved category candidates as per rules of commission in SSC CGL.

  • SC/ ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • Physically Handicapped – 10 years
  • PH + OBC – 13 years
  • PH + SC/ST – 15 years

 

Physical Standards

 

Candidates wish to be an Inspector or sub- Inspector through SSC CGL 2018. They need to check the physical standards criteria for various posts as mentioned below:

Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/ preventive officer)

For Males

Height – 157.5 cms & Chest – 81 cms

For Females

Height – 152 cms & Weight – 48 kg

Sub Inspector in CBI

Height for men will be 165 cms and for women will be 150 cms

Chest – 76 cms

Sub Inspector in NIA

Height for men will be 170 cms and for women will be 150 cms

Chest – 76 cms with expansion

Nationality

 

Candidate must be either:

  • Citizen of India, or
  • Subject of Nepal, or
  • Subject of Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settles down in India.
  • Person of Indian origin (PIO) who has migrated from, Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Kenya, Zaire, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settle down in India.
